Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday heard a petition challenging the arrest of Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar and directed the Central Government to place on record any orders issued under Sections 5 and 51 of the Delhi Special Police Establishment (DSPE) Act.
The court said the documents are necessary to determine whether the CBI had any legitimate authority or sanction to take action against Punjab government employees in Chandigarh. A bench headed by the Chief Justice adjourned the matter to the first week of December for the next hearing.
