India thrash Pakistan by 88 runs in Women’s World Cup, move to top of the table

New Delhi: India registered a comprehensive 88-run victory over Pakistan in the Women’s World Cup on Sunday, climbing to the top of the points table with four points from two matches.

After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bowl first. The Indian team was bowled out for 247 in 50 overs, with Harleen Deol top-scoring with 46 runs. In reply, Pakistan were dismissed for 159 in 43 overs, with Sidra Amin scoring a fighting 81.

For India, Kranti Gaur and Deepti Sharma shone with the ball, taking three wickets each, while Sneh Rana claimed two.

This marks India’s fourth consecutive win over Pakistan across formats. Earlier, on September 14, 21, and 28, Team India defeated Pakistan in three straight matches in the Men’s Asia Cup.
