India thrash UAE in just 4.3 overs in Asia Cup opener

Dubai: India dominated the first match of Group A in the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai Cricket Stadium, defeating the United Arab Emirates in just 4.3 overs after reducing them to a mere 57.

Chasing the small target, India lost only one wicket, with Abhishek top-scoring at 30 runs off 16 balls, including two fours and three sixes.

The UAE batsmen struggled against India’s bowling attack. Kuldeep Yadav led the charge, taking 4 wickets for just 7 runs in 13 balls, while Shivam Dubey claimed 3 wickets. UAE started their innings cautiously, but wickets fell quickly, leaving their batting line-up in disarray.

The highest scorer for UAE was Alishan Sharafu with 22 runs off 17 balls, followed by captain Mohammad Wasim, who made 17. No other batsman managed more than 4 runs.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav had opted to bowl first after winning the toss, a decision that proved decisive as his bowlers completely outclassed the UAE.
