Washington: Government sources on Wednesday said communication channels remain open between India and the United States to resolve the ongoing tariff issue.
The US has imposed a 50 per cent tariff on Indian exports, with some exceptions, which came into effect from Wednesday.
“Given the diverse nature of Indian exports, the impact of tariffs is unlikely to be as severe as being feared,” the sources said, adding that dialogue will continue to find a resolution.
They further said there is no need for panic among exporters. “This is a temporary phase in the long-standing relationship between India and the United States,” they added.
