New Delhi: The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Sunday said IndiGo has returned luggage to nearly 3,000 passengers across India following the large-scale cancellation of its flights.
The ministry added that refunds amounting to ₹610 crore have been processed so far and the remaining amount will reach affected passengers shortly.
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a show-cause notice to IndiGo’s CEO, seeking an explanation for the inconvenience caused nationwide due to the mass flight cancellations. The regulator has asked why action should not be taken against him for the disruptions.
The CEO has been directed to respond within the stipulated time. The DGCA said unilateral action will be taken if the response is not submitted.
