Mohali: Punjabi singer and actor Rajveer Jawanda passed away at Fortis Hospital in Mohali on October 8. Initial reports had claimed that he died following a road accident in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. However, a new investigation has clarified that the accident actually took place in Pinjore.
According to the report, the accident occurred on September 27 while Jawanda was travelling to Shimla. He sustained serious injuries in the crash and was initially taken to a private hospital in Pinjore, which allegedly refused to provide first aid. The delay in treatment reportedly worsened his condition, contributing to his eventual death.
The investigation by Lawyers for Human Rights International (LFHRI), based on the Daily Diary Report (DDR) from Pinjore Police Station and local inquiries, confirmed that Shourie Hospital in Pinjore did not provide emergency care to the injured singer. Following this, Jawanda was moved first to a government hospital in Panchkula, then to a private hospital in Panchkula, and finally to Fortis Hospital in Mohali.
Jawanda was placed on ventilator support for 11 days before succumbing to his injuries. The investigation has raised serious concerns over the handling of the singer’s emergency treatment in the initial hours after the accident.
