CHANDIGARH: The untimely death of renowned Punjabi singer and actor Rajveer Jawanda has left his fans and family heartbroken. The 34-year-old artist lost his life following a tragic road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, on September 27.
According to family friends, Rajveer’s wife had urged him not to travel to Shimla on his 1300cc BMW motorcycle, fearing something unfortunate might happen. Despite her repeated pleas, the singer went ahead with his plan to ride to the hills.
Sadly, her fears came true when Rajveer’s motorcycle collided with a stray animal near Baddi. He sustained serious head and spinal injuries and was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Mohali. Doctors fought to save his life for 11 days, but he succumbed to his injuries after suffering a cardiac arrest on Wednesday morning.
A close friend of the family told The Daily Post, “His wife asked him not to go… but he didn’t listen. Those words have now become a painful memory for the family.”
Rajveer Jawanda was best known for his hit songs Tu Dis Penda, Khush Raha Kar, Sardari, Surname, Afreen, Makan Malik, Down to Earth and Kangani. He also featured in Punjabi films such as Subedar Joginder Singh (2018), Jind Jaan (2019) and Mindo Tehsildarni (2019).
