Mumbai: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who is contesting from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency in Himachal Pradesh, appeared before a local court through her legal representatives on Monday. She did not attend the hearing in person, and her counsel represented her.
According to reports, the court framed charges against Kangana during the proceedings. The complainant’s counsel, Raghbir Singh Vaihniwal, presented his client in court.
Vaihniwal said that after Kangana’s personal appearance on October 27, her legal team had sought permission for her to attend future hearings via video conferencing.
For the latest hearing, her lawyers again submitted an application seeking exemption from personal appearance, citing security concerns. The plea referred to the recent attack on Kangana at an airport and several FIRs linked to the incident.
Further proceedings in the case are expected to continue as per the court’s schedule.
