Lok Sabha adjourned amid opposition uproar over Operation Sindoor, Pahalgam attack

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon on the first day of the monsoon session on Monday amid uproar by opposition members demanding discussions on the Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, and other issues.

The House was adjourned about 20 minutes after it convened as Congress MPs pressed for a debate on security lapses in the Pahalgam attack and concerns related to Operation Sindhur.

Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal gave an adjournment notice in the Lok Sabha seeking a discussion on the security lapses, while Congress MP Amar Singh demanded that all scheduled business be suspended to discuss these issues.

In the Rajya Sabha, Congress member Randeep Surjewala submitted a notice under Rule 267, seeking suspension of all business to discuss the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. The opposition is expected to raise these concerns in the Upper House as well.

The monsoon session of Parliament began on Monday, with 21 sittings scheduled till August 21.
