Ludhiana: The Ludhiana police have registered a case of cheating against Sunil Kant Munjal, director of Hero Realty Private Limited, and Nikhil Jain, sales head of the Hero Homes project, after a complaint by a local resident. The case was filed at Sarabha Nagar police station.
According to the complaint, Fatash Jain, a resident of New Madhopuri in Ludhiana, claims that he paid ₹2.41 crore to Hero Realty Pvt Ltd in New Delhi for four flats in the Hero Homes Ludhiana project, but never received possession of the units.
Jain said that despite repeated contact, both Munjal and his company ignored his demands and failed to deliver the flats. He alleged that the full amount was paid, but “the company has directly cheated” him.
Following an investigation, police registered a case under relevant sections and have begun a hunt for the accused. No arrests have been made so far.
The Hero Group, a well-known industrial conglomerate, is indirectly implicated due to its association with Hero Realty. Munjal, who does not reside in Ludhiana, reportedly has a major flat project under Hero Homes in the South City area, where Jain had booked his flats.
Police said that they are treating the matter seriously and are following all leads to bring the accused to justice.
