DC Reviews Arrangements for Kirtan Samagam and Dharmik Yatra Reaching Patiala on the Occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary
Patiala News (Pawan Dhupar):Â Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav reviewed the preparations for the major events to be organized across Patiala district in November to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, as per the decision of the Punjab Government.
Presiding over a meeting of the District Cultural Society, Dr. Preeti Yadav informed that a special Kirtan Samagam will be organized in Patiala city to pay homage to the supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Similar Kirtan Samagams and Kavi Darbars will also be held in all sub-divisions of the district. She added that the Dharmik Yatra starting from Sri Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda) on November 20 will reach Patiala, where the Sangat will stay overnight.
Issuing directions to all officers for ensuring smooth arrangements for the convenience of the devotees, Dr. Preeti Yadav said that Patiala is a city specially blessed by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, as as many as 36 sacred sites associated with the Guru Sahib are located in the district. She added that major projects have already been planned for the holistic development of these revered sites. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all residents of Patiala district to participate in these religious events with full devotion and enthusiasm.
Highlighting the unmatched sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Dr. Preeti Yadav said that such an example of selflessness and courage is unparalleled in the history of the world. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is organizing grand programs to spread the message and philosophy of Guru Sahib across the globe, she said. The Deputy Commissioner added that the district administration is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities with complete dedication and faith, as true devotees of the Guru.
Dr. Preeti Yadav instructed all officers to ensure that there are no shortcomings in the arrangements for these upcoming events. She reviewed key aspects including cleanliness, road repairs, accommodation for Sangat, parking facilities, and venue decoration, and issued necessary directions.
The meeting was attended by ADCs Damanjit Singh Mann, Navreet Kaur Sekhon, and Simarpreet Kaur; SPs Vaibhav Chaudhary and Achhru Ram; SDMs Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh, Kirpalveer Singh, Harjot Kaur, and Richa Goyal; along with senior officials from the Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation, and other concerned departments.
