Chandigarh: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the party’s ‘MNREGA Mazdoor, Kisan Bachao’ rally.
Kharge alleged that Modi had turned into “Surrender Modi” before US President Donald Trump and accused him of pushing the country towards a new phase of subjugation.
He claimed that the current political and economic challenges facing the country required strong leadership and asserted that senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was the only leader capable of taking on the present dispensation.
‘Country facing serious challenges’
Kharge said the nation was facing serious issues affecting workers and farmers, and alleged that both state and central governments had failed to address their concerns adequately.
The rally, organised by the Congress to highlight issues related to MNREGA workers and farmers, saw participation from several senior party leaders and workers.
