Ludhiana: Police have solved the case of a young man whose body was found chopped into pieces inside a drum in Ludhiana, Punjab. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Davinderpal, a resident of Bharti Colony in Ludhiana.
Davinderpal had returned home from Mumbai just two days before the incident. He was a computer engineer and had been working in Mumbai for the past five months, overseeing machine-related work.
Police have arrested his friend Shera, also known as Shamsher, and Shamsher’s wife Kuldeep in connection with the murder. According to the police, the incident occurred during drug use when an argument broke out between Davinderpal and the accused over a financial dispute.
During the fight, Shamsher allegedly pushed Davinderpal, causing him to fall to the ground. Davinderpal did not get up, and despite repeated attempts to lift him, he remained unresponsive. Believing that Davinderpal had died, Shamsher allegedly took out a saw and began cutting the body to dispose of the evidence.
Police said the accused chopped the body into seven pieces, a process that took around two and a half hours. The body parts were then packed into a drum and dumped in a vacant plot near Sacred Heart School on Jalandhar Bypass.
The police said the head and torso were found about one kilometre apart. One hand is still missing and efforts are underway to trace it.
