Jalandhar: A massive fire broke out in a warehouse of a rubber factory near the Mata temple at Lamma Pind Chowk in Jalandhar, Punjab. The godown, located in an open plot, was engulfed in flames rising up to 20 to 25 feet. Fire brigade vehicles rushed to the spot after locals alerted the authorities, and efforts are underway to control the blaze.
Eyewitnesses said that around 9:45 pm, they noticed thick smoke and a strong smell of burning rubber. Moments later, flames were seen shooting high into the air. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but locals claimed that tyres belonging to the factory were stored at the site. Tyres worth lakhs of rupees are feared to have been destroyed in the fire.
