LUDHIANA: A gunman deployed in the security of Punjab Police DIG Satinder Singh was severely injured after he was allegedly beaten by a milkman and his associates. The incident left the constable with a head fracture and a serious spinal cord injury, following which he was admitted to a hospital.
According to the initial investigation, the milkman, along with his father and three accomplices, assaulted the constable.
Police officials said the attackers used aluminium milk cans and sharp-edged weapons during the assault.
A case has been registered, and the police have launched a search to trace the accused. Further investigation is underway.
