‘My traitor friend, you will return’: Sharp exchange between Rahul Gandhi and Ravneet Singh Bittu outside Parliament

New Delhi: Congress MPs on Wednesday staged a protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of being “compromised”, leading to a sharp verbal exchange between Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu.

Congress MPs gathered outside Parliament holding placards reading “PM is compromised”. The protest was aimed at reiterating claims made by Rahul Gandhi a day earlier before the media regarding the India–US trade agreement.

During the protest, Ravneet Singh Bittu, who is also the minister of state for railways, passed by the demonstrators. At this point, Rahul Gandhi pointed towards Bittu and referred to him as a “traitor friend”. Gandhi then extended his hand in a sarcastic gesture and remarked that Bittu would eventually return to the Congress.

The exchange briefly escalated tensions at the protest site, drawing attention from other MPs and security personnel present in the Parliament complex.

The Congress has maintained that its protest was meant to highlight what it describes as serious concerns over national interest, while the BJP has dismissed the allegations as politically motivated.
