Chandigarh: Former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu has triggered fresh speculation in political circles after sharing a post on social media on Sunday. Sidhu posted a video message in a poetic tone in which he said, “Those who ignite fires do not realise that when the winds change, they too will turn to ashes. Now it is about stature. The move will be bigger and the game will be over. That is the point.”
The post has added heat to Punjab’s political atmosphere as it is Sidhu’s first such message after the suspension of his wife Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu. Until now, Sidhu had largely limited his social media activity to posts related to comedy shows or photographs with sportspersons.
Reacting to the development, Patiala MP Dr Dharamvir Singh Gandhi said Sidhu is not sitting quietly and is instead preparing for the next phase of his political innings. He said it remains to be seen from which platform Sidhu will play his next role.
Gandhi added that Sidhu has the right to join any party and that he carries a strong political drive within him. “People think he is silent but he is never truly quiet. This post reflects the fire within him,” he said.
