Jalandhar News (Pawan Dhupar): A religious dispute in Jalandhar over communal slogans has been fully resolved through the active intervention of Aam Aadmi Party’s Jalandhar Central in-charge Nitin Kohli, Mayor Vanit Dhir, and Cabinet Minister Mahendra Bhagat, along with mediation by AAP leader Chandan Grewal and District Planning Board Chairman Amritpal Singh. The reconciliation meeting took place at the Mayor’s residence, where both sides reached a mutual agreement.
Representatives Ayub Khan and Yogesh Mani embraced each other during the meeting, sending a message of peace, goodwill, and brotherhood. They pledged to celebrate all upcoming festivals in harmony.
Cabinet Minister Mahendra Bhagat said that Jalandhar has always been known for unity and communal harmony. He appealed to all parties to maintain peace and said that disputes can only be resolved through dialogue and understanding.
Nitin Kohli added that the Punjab government is committed to strengthening the tradition of peace and religious harmony. He announced the formation of a “Peace Committee” in Jalandhar, comprising representatives from all religions and communities, to address future disputes through dialogue.
Mayor Vanit Dhir said the municipal corporation and administration are equally committed to respecting all religions and communities. He added that Jalandhar is the heart of Punjab, and the city’s roots are deeply tied to mutual love and unity.
Advocate Naeem Khan, President of Muslim Organizations Punjab, was also present at the event.
