Chandigarh: A major road accident took place on Fatehgarh Churian Road in Amritsar on Tuesday morning, leaving two car occupants critically injured. According to eyewitnesses, the collision was so severe that the vehicle was badly mangled. Local residents rushed to the spot to assist the victims.
Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, AAP MLA from Ajnala, was passing through the area at the time of the accident. On noticing the incident, he immediately stopped his vehicle and shifted the injured youths to the Fatehgarh Churian hospital in his own jeep.
Due to the timely intervention, both victims received immediate medical attention. Dhaliwal later shared details of the incident on his Instagram account, stating that he saw the crashed car and rushed the injured to hospital without delay.
However, one of the youths succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while the other is undergoing treatment and is said to be in stable condition. The incident has cast a pall of gloom in the area.
The MLA expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength for them in this difficult time. Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
