Over 2.12 lakh pollution under control certificate issued in four days as GRAP-IV curbs begin to show results in Delhi

New Delhi: The problem of pollution in the national capital continues to worsen, even as the government steps up efforts to control it. Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said on Monday that more than 2.12 lakh pollution under control (PUC) certificates have been issued in the last four days following the strict implementation of GRAP-IV, while nearly 10,000 vehicles failed the mandatory emission tests.

Sirsa also warned of strict action against industries and private offices found violating work-from-home directives. Addressing the media, he said the stringent restrictions imposed under GRAP-IV over the past four days have started yielding results and enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure full compliance with the measures.
