New Delhi: A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has collected more than 40 samples from the blast site near the Red Fort, officials said on Wednesday. The samples include two cartridges—one of which is a live round—and traces of two different types of explosives.
Officials said preliminary analysis indicated that one of the explosive samples appeared to be ammonium nitrate. The second explosive is believed to be more powerful, though its exact composition will be confirmed after detailed forensic testing.
On Monday, the Delhi Police recovered 360 kg of ammonium nitrate during a raid at a house in Faridabad. Two individuals linked to Dr. Al Falah University, identified as Dr. Muzammil Ganai and Dr. Shaheen Saeed, were arrested in connection with the case.
According to officials, the forensic team discovered the cartridges while examining the blast site. More than 40 samples have been sent for further investigation.
