JALANDHAR NEWS: Police have arrested Amanpreet Singh Kakkad and his wife Mahima Kaur Kakkad, owners of Jujhar Overseas located near the bus stand, for allegedly cheating a young woman of ₹6.50 lakh on the pretext of sending her abroad. The arrest was made by the Jalandhar city police.
According to the police, another accused in the case is still absconding.
SHO Ajaib Singh said the couple allegedly lured the woman with the promise of arranging her travel abroad and took ₹6.50 lakh from her. However, neither was she sent abroad nor was her money returned.
After an inquiry, a case was registered and the couple was arrested, the SHO said.
