Panchkula: Haryana Police has intensified action against objectionable content on social media, targeting rapper Badshah’s controversial song ‘Tateeree’, which is now becoming difficult to access on digital platforms.
According to officials, the cyber cell has so far removed 857 links related to the song from the internet. This includes 154 YouTube videos featuring the full song or its clips, along with 703 Instagram reels through which the content was being widely circulated.
Police said the action is being carried out under a structured legal process. Notices have been issued to major platforms, including Google and Meta, directing them to remove all versions of the song and prevent re-uploads. Authorities have also asked for deletion of short clips, memes and text-based content linked to the track.
Officials stated that the primary reason behind the crackdown is the alleged use of objectionable and offensive language in the song, which they say harms social values and particularly disrespects women and minors.
Police warned that strict legal action will be taken against artists or promoters releasing similar content in the future, including possible restrictions on their digital accounts.
The move highlights growing scrutiny of online content and increased enforcement against material deemed inappropriate by authorities.
