New Delhi: A parliamentary committee is likely to summon senior officials of private airlines and the civil aviation regulator in connection with IndiGo’s large-scale flight cancellations that have disrupted air travel across the country.
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture, chaired by JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha, is expected to seek detailed clarifications from top airline executives, officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The panel aims to understand the reasons behind the unprecedented disruption and explore measures to prevent similar crises in the future.
The committee is also expected to review the immediate impact on passengers and examine whether airlines followed regulatory requirements related to refunds, rescheduling, and customer support during the crisis.
