Chandigarh: A public interest litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in connection with the death of Punjabi singer Rajveer Jawanda. The matter came up for hearing today, following which the court issued notices to the Centre, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and the National Medical Commission (NMC), seeking details about the treatment provided to the singer.
The petition alleged that Rajveer Jawanda died due to the lack of timely and proper medical treatment. The singer had sustained critical injuries in a road accident near Baddi on September 27 and was undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where he battled for life for 11 days before succumbing to his injuries.
