PM Modi accuses Congress of neglecting Northeast, launches projects worth ₹5,100 crore in Itanagar

Itanagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday accused the Congress of habitually abandoning difficult development works, saying this has caused severe damage to the Northeast.

Addressing a public rally after inaugurating development projects worth over ₹5,100 crore at Indira Gandhi Park in Itanagar, PM Modi said, “The Congress has a habit of never doing development works that are difficult to do, it leaves them. This habit of Congress caused a lot of damage to Arunachal Pradesh and the entire Northeast. The Congress forgot these areas by declaring them backward where development work was challenging.”

PM Modi said he understands that the development of the Northeast cannot be carried out from Delhi, which is why he has sent more ministers and officials to the region and has himself visited the Northeast more than 70 times.

Highlighting the government’s recent reforms, PM Modi said that the launch of GST 2.0 on the first day of Navratri has brought a “double bonanza” for people during the festive season. “Today, GST reforms have been implemented across the country and GST ‘Bachat Utsav’ has begun. The GST reforms will reduce the kitchen budget, which will provide relief to housewives,” he said.
