PM Modi accuses opposition of shielding corruption, ignoring threat from infiltrators

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused the opposition alliance ‘India’ of opposing measures taken by his government to curb corruption and address the threat posed by infiltrators.

Addressing rallies in Bihar’s Gayaji and Bhagalpur, as well as in Kolkata, Modi also made indirect references to the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, 2025, introduced in the Lok Sabha this week, and the Special Revision of Electoral Rolls (SIR) being carried out by the Election Commission in Bihar.

“We have seen a very sorry situation in which those in power are running the government from jail, signing files after bars, flouting constitutional dignity,” Modi said at Gayaji, in an apparent reference to former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Claiming that his government had maintained a clean record for the past 11 years, the prime minister contrasted it with what he described as several scams during previous Congress-led governments.
