New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that ending the Ukraine conflict as soon as possible is the call of humanity.
Modi made the remarks while holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the annual Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in the Chinese port city. “We welcome all recent efforts to bring peace to Ukraine and hope that all relevant parties will move forward in a ‘creative’ manner,” Modi said in his opening remarks, which were broadcast on television.
He added that it is imperative to end the struggle at the earliest and find ways to bring lasting peace to the region.
Modi also said that India is looking forward to Putin’s visit in December for summit talks. He underlined that India and Russia have consistently moved forward shoulder to shoulder even during difficult times, and said the close ties between the two nations are vital for global peace, stability, and prosperity.
