New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said his victory in Bihar reflects that people want development in their region, crediting his government’s day-and-night efforts for the outcome.
Addressing the Ram Nath Goenka awards, PM Modi said he is always ready to work for the development and welfare of the countrymen. He criticised some parties and leaders, claiming they use social justice politics for selfish interests.
“I want to tell all the states that the Bihar results tell us what kind of government people want, we should all focus only on development,” he said.
The Prime Minister highlighted India’s economic growth, saying the GDP has been rising at around 7 per cent despite global instability. “India is not just an emerging market but also an emerging model. Today’s India is impatient to become a developed nation,” he said, adding that the country is growing rapidly despite global challenges.
Modi also said that after independence, foreign opinions and goods were promoted, but his government has reversed that trend by encouraging domestic products.
