PM Modi spent nearly 300 days abroad since 2014, foreign visits cost Rs 2,500 crore

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spent nearly 300 days abroad since the start of his tenure in 2014, with official visits for what is described as ‘Vishwa Darshan’ averaging one foreign trip every 13 days.

According to official data, Modi has visited 57 countries during 33 foreign visits from 2021 to July 2025, incurring an expenditure of Rs 361.94 crore.

In 2024 alone, the Prime Minister made 11 foreign visits, which cost the exchequer Rs 109.42 crore.

Overall, the Prime Minister’s foreign visits over the past 11 years have cost about Rs 2,500 crore, setting a new record for foreign travel by an Indian Prime Minister, officials said.
