London: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday raised concerns over the increasing activities of pro-Khalistan elements on British soil and said forces with “extremist ideologies” should be prevented from misusing democratic freedoms and must be held accountable.

PM Modi also sought the extradition of billionaire fugitives, indirectly referring to Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi, and said agencies of both countries would continue to cooperate on the issue.

He was speaking to reporters at the residence of his British counterpart Keir Starmer, around 50 km northwest of London.

In Starmer’s presence, Modi said that the two countries agree there can be “no room for double standards in the fight against terrorism.” He also thanked the UK government for condemning the Pahalgam terror attack.
