New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written the foreword for the Indian edition of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s autobiography I Am Giorgia – My Roots, My Principles, which will soon be released in India by Rupa Publications.
In his note, PM Modi praised Meloni as a “patriotic and outstanding contemporary leader” and said her personal and political journey is an inspiration for the people of India. Referring to his radio programme Mann Ki Baat, he described the book as Meloni’s own version of “Mann Ki Baat.”
Calling it a “great honour” to pen the foreword, Modi said he did so in the spirit of “respect, admiration and friendship” towards the Italian leader. He also shared insights from his interactions with world leaders during his 11 years in office, noting that Meloni’s life reflects the importance of stability and remaining rooted.
“Interacting with the world on an equal footing while protecting one’s cultural heritage is in line with our values,” PM Modi wrote.
