Jalandhar: Local authorities carried out an inspection of preparations for the grand Shobha Yatra to be taken out on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Ji’s birth anniversary. Officials were instructed to ensure that all arrangements along the procession route are completed on time, with no lapses in facilities or security.
The Shobha Yatra will be held on October 6, and administrative preparations are in full swing. To oversee the arrangements, Central Constituency In-charge Nitin Kohli, Mayor Vaneet Dhir, and Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Rishi jointly reviewed the main routes of the city on which the procession will pass.
The officials inspected road conditions, traffic management, sanitation, lighting, water supply, and security measures. They also issued directions to concerned departments on the spot to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
Those present during the inspection included Mayor Vaneet Dhir, Central In-charge Nitin Kohli, Safai Karamchari Commission Chairman Chandan Grewal, Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, Senior Deputy Mayor Balbir Bittu, Subhash Sondhi, Rajesh Bhatti, Rajkumar Raju, and other officers of the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation.
