Mansa: The flying squad formed by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann for road construction oversight has taken strict action after identifying deficiencies during a surprise inspection of the Makha Chahalan special link road under the market committee in Mansa.
During the inspection, the team found poor-quality work and immediately terminated JE Gurpreet Singh of the Punjab Mandi Board. A notice was also issued to the SDO, and all works under the SDO were withdrawn with immediate effect.
On Monday, the squad visited Bhikhi, where officials from the Public Works Department and contractors were present.
While inspecting the road, the team advised the SDO to address the berm, warning that heavy traffic could cause the road to break. Samples of the road were taken, and a one-square-yard section was uprooted to assess its condition.
