Chandigarh: Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who was arrested by the CBI in a bribery case on Thursday, told the media on Friday that all allegations against him are false. “The allegations are completely baseless. I will prove my innocence in court. The court will do justice, and we will answer everything,” Bhullar said during his appearance before the Chandigarh CBI court, which sent him to 14-day judicial custody.
Bhullar and his middleman, Krishnu, were taken into custody by the CBI on October 16. Following the arrests, the agency conducted searches at Bhullar’s house and farmhouse, recovering cash, gold, luxury watches, firearms, bank documents, and other assets.
