CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has accepted the resignation of Ravi Chawla, Technical Advisor to the Chief Minister, amid allegations of delays in clearing development-related files.

Chawla, who retired as Chief Engineer in June 2024, had been appointed as Technical Advisor the same month to oversee tenders for building and road projects worth over ₹2.50 crore. He submitted his resignation on November 5.

According to sources, Chawla was asked to step down following complaints about delays in approving technical estimates and clearing files related to various development works. Officials said such delays were affecting the timely completion of projects across departments.

Chawla’s role involved reviewing technical estimates and ensuring smooth execution of works in multiple departments. However, persistent complaints reportedly prompted the government to seek his resignation.
