Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday issued helpline numbers to assist Punjabis stranded in Arab countries amid the ongoing conflict in the Gulf region.
Sharing a post, the Chief Minister said several Punjabis are facing difficulties due to the escalating hostilities in Arab nations. He urged those who are stuck or whose family members are stranded abroad to immediately get in touch with the state’s NRI wing.
Mann assured that the Punjab government is in constant coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safe return of affected residents.
24-hour helpline, control room set up
The Chief Minister said the state has established a 24-hour helpline and control room to support youth and students facing challenges in Gulf countries.
He appealed to affected families to contact 0172-2260042, 0172-2260043 or WhatsApp number +91 94787 79112 for assistance.
Reiterating the government’s commitment, Mann said the Punjab government stands shoulder to shoulder with stranded residents and their families and will make every possible effort to ensure their safety and return.
