Chandigarh: Punjab Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets in a high-scoring IPL match at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on Saturday.
Chasing a stiff target of 220, Punjab Kings completed the chase with seven balls to spare, riding on brilliant half-centuries from Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh and captain Shreyas Iyer.
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 219/6, powered by a blistering 74 off 28 balls by Abhishek Sharma.
In reply, Priyansh Arya (57) and Prabhsimran Singh (51) gave Punjab a flying start, adding 99 runs for the opening wicket before both were dismissed by Shivang Kumar.
Shreyas Iyer then anchored the chase with a match-winning 69 off 33 balls, guiding Punjab Kings to 223/4 and sealing a comprehensive victory.
