Punjab leaders condemn ED raid on AAP leader, call it a diversion from PM Modi’s degree issue

Chandigarh: Following the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at the residence of former Delhi minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj, political tensions in Punjab have escalated. Punjab ministers held press conferences targeting the Centre, while Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the action was aimed at diverting public attention.

“At present, there is a nationwide discussion about Prime Minister Modi’s degree. To divert people’s attention from this, Saurabh Bhardwaj’s house was raided,” Mann said. He alleged that after keeping Satyendar Jain in jail for three years, the CBI and ED ultimately filed closure reports, indicating that cases against AAP leaders are “fake and false.”

Former Delhi Education Minister and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia also criticized the move, saying, “Yesterday, the whole country questioned PM Modi’s degree. When the truth came out, the ED raid targeted Saurabh Bhardwaj to divert attention. He was not even a minister at the time the case began. Just as their degrees are alleged to be fake, these cases are also fake.”

Sisodia added that the focus of such actions is not the truth but “suppressing the honesty of the Aam Aadmi Party,” citing Satyendar Jain’s three-year imprisonment without any evidence as an example.
