Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday flagged off a batch of 30 government school principals from Chandigarh for a training programme in Singapore.
The group includes 20 women principals and 10 men principals. The initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen the education sector through international training and exposure.
Speaking on the occasion, Mann said the Punjab government has been continuously introducing reforms and initiatives to improve the quality of education in the state. He added that sending principals and teachers for international training programmes helps enhance teaching methods and leadership in schools.
The chief minister said that earlier 234 principals had already been sent to Singapore for training in seven batches. With the latest batch, the total number of principals trained in Singapore will reach 264.
He further announced that another batch of teachers will be sent to Finland in April for a similar training programme aimed at improving the education system in Punjab.
