Chandigarh: The Punjab government has ordered a major reshuffle in the police force, appointing new Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) in four districts. The move includes a key change in Amritsar Rural, where the previous SSP was suspended for allegedly failing to act against gangsters.
According to the government’s order, Batala SSP Suhail Qasim Mir has been transferred to Amritsar Rural as the new SSP. SBS Nagar SSP Mehtab Singh has been posted in Batala.
Tushar Gupta, Joint Director (Crime) in the Vigilance Bureau, has been appointed as the SSP of SBS Nagar. Intelligence AIG Abhimanyu Rana has been posted as the new SSP of Muktsar.
Meanwhile, Muktsar SSP Akhil Chaudhary has been transferred as AIG in the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF).
