Punjab woman goes missing in Pakistan, reports claim conversion to Islam

Amritsar: Sarabjit Kaur, who travelled to Pakistan as part of a jatha of Sikh pilgrims to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, has gone missing during visits to gurdwaras in Nankana Sahib.

Recent reports from Pakistan are claiming that she has converted to Islam, changed her name to Noor Hussain and has married there.

A mosque in Sheikhupura has reportedly issued a nikah certificate citing her consent. However, there is no confirmation of it.

Sarabjit, 52, a resident of Kapurthala, crossed the Wagah-Attari border with more than 1,900 Sikh pilgrims on November 4. The jatha returned to India on November 13 after a 10-day visit but she did not come back with them.
