Raghav Chadha works as Blinkit delivery agent for a day, highlights gig workers’ challenges

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha spent a day working as a Blinkit delivery agent, delivering orders across the city to draw attention to the challenges faced by frontline workers in India’s rapidly growing quick-commerce sector.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader shared a video on X, showing him dressed in a Blinkit delivery uniform and helmet. In the footage, Chadha can be seen riding pillion on a delivery partner’s motorcycle and completing multiple orders.

Alongside the video, Chadha wrote: “Beyond boardrooms, at the grassroots. Lived their day today.” He said the initiative was aimed at understanding life on the ground, away from policy debates, and at highlighting the difficulties faced by workers engaged in last-mile delivery.

Chadha, who represents Punjab in the Rajya Sabha, has been a vocal critic of the 10-minute delivery promises made by several quick-commerce platforms. He has argued that such time-bound commitments often compel delivery workers to take risks on the road to meet strict targets.

Earlier, during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Chadha had urged the House to look beyond consumer convenience and reflect on the human cost of ultra-fast deliveries. “These people are not robots. They are someone’s father, husband, brother or son. The House should think about them, and this cruelty of 10-minute delivery must end,” he had said.

Through his latest post, Chadha sought to reinforce that argument with first-hand experience, stressing the need for safer working conditions and greater protection for delivery workers.
