New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday described the AI Summit as a “disorganised PR spectacle” and alleged that Chinese products were being showcased at the event.
In a post on X, Gandhi said, “Instead of leveraging India’s talent and data, the AI Summit is a disorganised PR spectacle — Indian data is up for sale and Chinese products are being displayed.”
His remarks come amid controversy surrounding Galgotias University, which allegedly showcased a robotic dog labelled “Orion” at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 expo. Critics have claimed that the robot was in fact China-made ‘Unitree Go2’ and not an indigenous innovation.
The issue has sparked a broader debate on transparency, indigenous technological development and the credibility of claims made at national technology platforms.
