CHANDIGARH: Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday met the family of late Haryana IPS officer Y K Puran Kumar and offered condolences. Puran Kumar’s wife, IAS officer Amneet P Kumar, and other family members were present during the meeting.
Speaking to reporters outside the IAS officer’s residence, Rahul Gandhi said, “Dalits are facing atrocities across the country. This is not an issue concerning just one family but crores of Dalits in India.”
Gandhi’s visit comes amid growing outrage over the officer’s death, which has sparked demands for justice and accountability within Haryana’s police administration.
