New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speech, saying it contained “nothing new” and reflected the same approach he has followed during his tenure. Gandhi alleged that the Prime Minister has “no new ideas” left.
In a post on X, Gandhi wrote, “₹1 lakh crore jumla – season 2! Even after 11 years, the same old jumlas, the same remembered figures of Modi ji. Last year, the promise of ₹1 lakh crore to 1 crore internships — this year again ₹1 lakh crore job scheme!”
He claimed that in response to his question in Parliament, the government had admitted that less than 10,000 internships were provided, while the scholarship amount was so low that “90% of the youth refused”.
Gandhi added, “Modiji has no new idea left now. The youth will not get employment from this government — they will only get employment promises.”
