Amritsar: Leader of Opposition in Parliament and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived in Punjab on Monday to visit flood-affected areas of Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts.
Gandhi was received at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport by Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, MP Gurjit Singh Aujla, Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Partap Singh Bajwa, and other senior Congress leaders.
From the airport, he left for the flood-hit town of Ramdas in Amritsar, where he paid obeisance at Gurdwara Baba Buddha Ji and met people affected by the floods.
He is also scheduled to visit Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district and other flood-affected areas later in the day.
