New Delhi: A video showing a woman cooking Maggi inside an AC coach of the Indian Railways using an electric kettle plugged into a mobile charging socket has gone viral on social media, prompting concerns over passenger safety.
The clip, widely circulated on X, shows the woman preparing noodles during her train journey. The incident quickly drew the attention of Railway officials.
In response, Central Railway issued an advisory urging passengers not to use high-voltage appliances on board. “Travel Smart, Stay Safe. High-voltage appliances like electric kettles can trigger sparks, fire risks or electrical tripping inside train coaches. Please do not use such devices and help maintain a safe environment on the train,” the advisory said.
Meanwhile, social media users reacted sharply to the video with many expressing worry over the safety of fellow passengers.
