Mohali: The untimely death of Punjabi singer Rajveer Jawanda at the age of 35 has left the music industry and his fans grief-stricken. Jawanda, known for his soulful and powerful voice, passed away at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, on Wednesday morning after battling for life for nearly two weeks following a tragic road accident near Baddi on September 27.
He was on his way to Shimla on his motorcycle when the accident occurred. Despite efforts by doctors, Jawanda succumbed to his injuries at 10.55 am. Fans across Punjab and abroad had been praying for his recovery, flooding social media with messages of hope and support.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with several artists and politicians, had visited the hospital earlier to enquire about his condition. After the news of his passing, hundreds gathered outside Fortis Hospital to pay their respects.
Before stepping into the world of music, Rajveer Jawanda served in the Punjab Police. Born in Pona village near Jagraon in Ludhiana, he rose to prominence with hit songs like Sardari, Tu Dis Penda, Kali Camaro, and Shaandaar. His unique blend of folk rhythms and modern beats made him one of the most admired voices in Punjab.
Jawanda often expressed his love for motorcycles and rural Punjab in his songs and social media posts. Beyond fame, he was celebrated for his humility and connection with fans.
