Jagraon: A Bhog Samagam was held on Friday in the native village of Punjabi singer Rajveer Jawanda, where prayers were offered for his spiritual peace. Rajya Sabha MP Vikram Sahni announced that Jawanda’s wife will be given a government job, and the government will bear the cost of their children’s education. He said he will soon meet Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the matter.
Jawanda’s daughter, Amanat Kaur, remembered her father, saying, “My father was the sweetest father, he considered me lucky and used to say that he loved me very much. He has now gone away from me. What happened to him should not happen to anyone.”
Several Punjabi celebrities attended the Samagam, including singer Resham Anmol and actors Ranjit Bawa, Satinder Satti, Sachin Ahuja, Buta Mohammad, and Guggu Gill.
Speaking at the event, Guggu Gill said, “Such promising people are very rare. He made a big name at a young age.” Inderjit Nikku added that the entire Punjabi community is saddened by Jawanda’s death, while Buta Mohammad remarked that one must accept the command of God.
Panchkula Police clarified that Rajveer Jawanda died after his bike collided with a cow near Pinjore on September 27 while traveling from Baddi to Shimla with five friends. Although he was rushed to the hospital, he could not be saved.
Police confirmed there was no black Bolero vehicle involved. A petition regarding his death has been filed in the High Court.
